In January 2010, Aimi Baker took on the role of Participation Officer, one of Aimi's main objectives is to develop the new Irish Gymnastics schools programme. This programme will work towards increasing the general levels of participation in gymnastics in schools, as well as putting in place a new school competitive section. The programme hopes to help teachers by providing the following;

WHAT’S AVAILABLE NOW...
Coaching courses – ‘GYMStart’
This coaching course is aimed at teachers and coaches who are just starting out. It is a 2-day course and covers a little of everything e.g. floor work, display work, using equipment, acrobatic balances etc. For more information click here...
Find a Club near you...
You may have a talented student who you wish to refer onto a local club, or you may want to start up gymnastic classes in your school and require coaching assistance, or the lend of equipment etc. To see a list of clubs in your area click here...

Workshops
We are currently in the development stages of gymnastics workshops for teachers. We have already started the process and have carried out a series of pilots throughout summer 2010.
These workshops will be approximately 4 hours long and will be aimed at a more basic level than the above GYMStart coaching course. They will contain all the very basic skills, movement patterns and make the best use of limited equipment.
We hope these workshops will be available early 2011, so watch this space!
