On 21st January, in Ballincollig, Co. Cork, Gymnastics Ireland teamed-up with the Cork Local Sports Partnership to host a promotional “Springboard” Workshop.

30 coaches from 10 different sports took part on the 6-hour course aimed at using gymnastics skills to spring other sports forward.

The “Pre-launch promotional workshop”  sold out in 2 days and saw coaches from athletics, judo, Gaeliic football and hurling, to name a few, learning the key approaches in gymnastics to moving, stretching, jumping, rolling and balancing.

Participation Manager, Aimi Baker, from Gymnastics Ireland said the feedback at the end of the workshop was extremely positive and the Cork LSP have requested at least 2 more workshops in the near future.

This workshop showed coaches the benefits that the Fundamental skills of gymnastics have to offer their sport and once launched, Springboard Workshops will be hosted nationwide.
