Russian Viktoria Komova wins first Massilia title

Russian star Viktoria Komova recovered from a fall off balance beam to win her first Elite Massilia title on Saturday in Marseille.
Komova topped Canadian junior Victoria Moors and Emily Little of Australia in her first appearance at Elite Massilia, according to information provided by GymNet. Komova posted the highest score of the meet (15.7) on uneven bars, and tallied 13.55 on beam, 14.05 on floor and 14.45 on vault.

Komova's teammate Tatiana Nabieva hahd a rougher outing, falling twice on floor (11.65) and only scoring 13.6 on balance beam. Nabieva did land both of her vaults (DTY and Podkopayeva), scoring in the low 14s on each.
Russia's Anastastia Grishina, who is age-eligible for the 2012 Olympics, also had a less stellar day, falling on bars and earning 13.15 on beam (several wobbles), 12.9 on floor and 13.45 on vault. Ksenia Afanasyeva, scheduled to be the fourth Russian competitor, withdrew due to a toothache.
