We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated coaches who are passionate about gymnastics and enjoy helping children and young people develop their skills, confidence and love of the sport.

The ideal candidate will hold a Gymnastics Ireland Level 2 or Level 1 qualification in GymSTART, Trampolining or Tumbling. New coaches will also be considered, particularly those who are enthusiastic about gymnastics and developing their coaching experience and qualifications.

The role will involve coaching our recreational and competitive gymnastics programme, working with gymnasts of a variety of ages and abilities, and supporting the ongoing development of our athletes in a safe, positive and encouraging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide positive, constructive and age-appropriate feedback to help gymnasts develop their technique, confidence and enjoyment of the sport.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, confidence and a positive attitude towards gymnastics.
  • Support the development of gymnasts who wish to progress through the club's programmes and potentially towards competitive gymnastics.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider coaching team to ensure consistency and a high standard of coaching.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment before and after sessions.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Gymnastics Ireland Level 2 or equivalent qualification; Level 1 or new coaches will also be considered.
  • Previous experience coaching gymnastics is desirable.
  • A good understanding of gymnastics skills, progressions, technique and safety.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification, or a willingness to obtain this.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • A patient, enthusiastic and encouraging approach to coaching.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team.

Training Days

The coaching role is based primarily around Friday evenings and Saturdays, running from September through to May in line with the club's main gymnastics programme.

Coaches will be expected to commit to regular Friday evening and/or Saturday sessions as agreed with the club in advance. Exact session times will be confirmed as part of the coaching availability schedule.

In addition to the regular weekly programme, there may be opportunities and/or requirements to support occasional gymnastics camps and special training sessions, including:

  • Christmas Camps
  • Summer Camps
  • Competition Specific Training
