Batmanova claims bronze at the Luxembourg Trophy Apparatus Finals

25th May 2016, 00:00a.m. | International

Anna Batmanova from Excel Gymnastics Club has claimed an historic bronze medal at the FIG Luxembourg Trophy today. Anna was competing in all three apparatus finals (Rope, Ball and Clubs) and scored strongly throughout. It was her standout performance in the Rope Routine, scoring a 13.90, that earned her Ireland's first apparatus medal at a FIG standard International competition.

Her performance comes off the back of the delegation from Gymnastics IReland claiming their first ever medal at a FIG International Rhythmic Gymnastics Event, when the team of Anna, Valeria Sapteboi - Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club and Anastasia Tsay - Elegance Gymnastics Club claimed the bronze medal in the Team event on Saturday evening.

Congratulations to Anna, Excel Gymnastics and the delegation that travelled to Luxembourg including Head of Delegation, Deirdre Farren and Head Performance Coach Kristina Rangelova.
