Another successful weekend for the Gymnastics Ireland National Series at the new National Indoor Arena

22nd & 23rd April 2014; National Indoor Arena:  It was the second weekend of the National Series Championships to be held in the new National Indoor Arena where over 400 gymnasts competed across three different disciplines.  The Rhythmic National Championships for Intermediate and Advanced kicked off the weekend along with Men’s Artistic Gymnastics levels 1-3 three piece competition.  Saturday evening and Sunday saw the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics 5-10 & 3-9plus All Round Finals take place.

There was high competition in front of a crowd of approximately 1500 spectators over the weekend.  Our resident media company Hello Deer captured some spectacular photographs and film footage. Make sure you check out the highlights video and full album on our facebook page.

In the Men’s competition the Highest PPP score of 8.550 was achieved by Evan Reid from Excel.  Anastasia Tsay achieved the highest overall score in the Advanced Junior FIG category with 42.850 points with her routine in the Rhythmic National Championship whilst in the Advanced Senior FIG category Valeria Sapteboi won with 38.550 points.  In the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics 5-10 & 3-9plus All Round Finals Emma Slevin from Renmore achieved the highest All Around score of 60.617 in the Level 9+ Over 13 category. May will be a busy month for Gymnastics Ireland where we have three weekends in a row of competitions.  If you would like to come and watch any of our competitions keep an eye on our website for spectator information.

20th & 21st May is our Women's Artistic National Levels 2-4 All Around Championships

27th & 28th May we will have our Acrobatics National Championships & Trampoline, Tumbling National Championships
