This 12 month project is designed to follow up the 2017 GymABLE Club Inclusion Project, also funded through DAF. The project will again focus on developing gymnastics opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in gymnastics within our club structure.

The project also aims to raise the profile of disability gymnastics among all our member clubs and will give direction & focus for Gymnastics Ireland’s National Disability and Inclusion Programme.

The €25,000 funding allocated to Gymnastics Ireland is part of a €2.9 million investment for sport and physical activity projects through the Dormant Accounts Fund administered by Sport Ireland.

The announcement was made by Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin TD. Speaking on the success of the application and the awarding of the funds was Gymnastics Ireland’s Participation Manager, Aimi Baker: ‘It is such fantastic news to secure this funding again enabling us to continue to develop our GymABLE Disability Program, supporting clubs, coaches and gymnasts with a disability’
