Irish Sport HQ, Dublin: The Gymnastics Ireland 2018 National Awards will take place in the Radisson Blu, Golden Lane, Dublin 8 on Saturday November 17th at 6.30pm.
The National Awards is an event that is designed to reward all those stand out performers and contributors to the sport of gymnastics throughout the year.
There are 15 award categories with 6 of those awards open for public nomination. We encourage all our member clubs to enter one or more of these awards so your contribution to the sport of gymnastics in Ireland can be recognised.
Timeframe
- Friday 28th September: Nominations open
- Deadline for nominations: Friday 12th October
- Announcement of winners/shortlisted finalists by Friday the 19th of October
- National Awards event Saturday 17th November
Awards open for nomination by membership:
- Coach of the Year - Club
- Unsung Hero
- Non-Competitive Club of the Year
- Display Club of the Year
- Inclusive Club of the Year
- Club Innovation Award
Awards made by direct appointment:
- Competitive Club of the Year
- Gymnast of the Year
- Rising Star
- Coach of the Year - International
- Young Coach of the Year – National
- Special Recognition
- Club Governance Award
- Club Social & Digital Content Award
- Safe Club of the Year
Some winners will automatically be announced, but in other cases and based on the calibre of entries Gymnastics Ireland may decide to shortlist to 3 finalists, with the winner being announced on the night.
Gymnastics Ireland will invite at its cost all winners, which will include in the case of individual winners two tickets (winner + 1 guest ticket) and in the case of clubs, two tickets per club. Additional tickets can then be purchased whereby, for example, a club will have the opportunity to take an additional 8/10 tickets thereby securing a full table of 10/12 persons on the evening. Information regarding ticket prices and dress code will be provided shortly.
