Emma Slevin departs for the Youth Olympic Games

2nd Oct 2018, Gymnastics Ireland, Sport HQ, Dublin: Junior gymnast Emma Slevin, who made history earlier this year in Baku by qualifying a place for Ireland in the Youth Olympic Games for the first time, will depart today to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the games will be held from the 6th to the 18th October.

Slevin will compete in Artistic Gymnastics and will represent the country along with 15 athletes from other Olympic sports as part of Team Ireland.

The qualifying round for the Women’s Artistic competition will be spread over various days, allowing 1 apparatus per day and kicking off with Floor on 7th Oct, Vault on 8th Oct, Uneven Bars on 9th Oct and Balance Bean on 10th Oct. Each days competition will begin at 6pm Irish time
