Historic 6th in Youth Olympic Games All Around final for Slevin

13th Oct 2018: Women’s Artistic gymnast Emma Slevin hit a historic 6th place in the All-Around final today at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. Slevin scored an overall 50.499 with Vault as her highest score of 13.433.

Commenting on the achievement CEO of Gymnastics Ireland, Mr. Ciaran Gallagher said: ‘The Gymnastics Ireland community was no doubt up late tonight watching the live stream on the Olympic Channel while Emma Slevin powered through an amazing All Around competition beating her 7th place qualification to finish 6th at the 2018 World Youth Olympic Games. She has shown the world what she is capable of and the competition is not over yet for her, 3 apparatus finals to come but already history made! Congratulations to personal coaches Sally Batley & Giacomo Camiciotti and to our Performance & Technical Manager Sally Johnson on an unreal result. Roll on apparatus finals...’

This is the third edition of the Youth Olympic Games which are hosted every four years. The Games, running from October 6 to October 18 will feature more than 4,000 talented junior athletes aged 15 to 18 from 200 countries in over 32 sports.
