Meg & Jane deliver first Women’s World Cup podium finish for Ireland

2nd September 2019; Irish gymnasts stepped on the podium at the 2019 World Challenge Cup in Mersin, Turkey, with Meg Ryan and Jane Hefferan winning silver and bronze on uneven-bars consecutively at the Women’s Artistic apparatus final yesterday, delivering the first Women’s World Cup podium finish for Ireland.

Commenting on the achievement, Gymnastics Ireland CEO, Mr Ciaran Gallagher said:

“Congratulations to our girls Jane Heffernan, Meg Ryan and Kate Molloy for a great performance at the World Cup in Turkey. It was superb to see Meg and Jane on the podium taking silver and bronze respectively in what are our first medals in a FIG World Cup event in the Women’s Artistic discipline. Superb work and congratulations also to coaches Emma Hamill & Sally Batley and their clubs Douglas & Renmore also to our Performance & Technical Manager Sally Johnson”
