Team Ireland close out Finals at 2019 Acrobatics European Championships

5th November 2019: The 29th European Championships in Acrobatic gymnastics concluded at the weekend in Holon, Israel with the performance of the Irish junior and senior women’s pairs and the junior women’s group.

Gymnasts Ciara Hickey & Aisling Dooley finished in 5th for both the dynamic and balance routines in the women’s pair individual & all-around competition. Leah Twomey & Laoise Murphy ranked 8th at the women’s pair apparatus and all-around finals with a score of 77.840. Junior gymnasts Rebecca O’Leary, Claudia Kavanagh & Kate Rohan ranked 16th for the Women’s group all-around final with a score of 72.860. This event represented experience for our Acrobatic teams on the international stage.

Commenting on the weekend Ciaran Gallagher, CEO Gymnastics Ireland said:

‘Building on the great team effort of the age-groups the previous week, our junior and senior acro gymnasts closed out an excellent outing to Israel for what was a great championships and made all the better by Leah & Laoise's finals!
