All-Around Bronze for Hilton at the 2022 Northern Europeans

19.11.22 Jyväskylä, Finland; Ireland’s Halle Hilton has secured bronze in the All-Around final today at the 2022 Northern Europeans in Finland with an overall score of 50.250 while also qualifying for Beam & Floor finals tomorrow. The Irish team finished in 5th place after a great performance from members Blathnaid Higgins, Emily Moorhead, Jane Heffernan, Lily Russell, Caoilfhionn Inglis and Halle Hilton. Halle will be joined by team mate Lily Russel who has qualified for Beam final with Caoilfhionn reserve for Floor final.

Commenting about the experience, Halle Hilton said: "...Yeah I felt it was really good, I’m really happy with the All-Around position that I’ve got, and oversee those few mistakes in there but there is always room for improvement, but I’m really happy, it was a good way to end it, yeah (…) So I made the Beam and Floor final, really looking forward to compete in them one last time and just get the routines out there again."

Gymnastics Ireland’s National Coach, Sandra Stevenson and Gymnastics Ireland’s Performance and Technical Manager Sally Johnson said: "Very proud to see a full team represent Ireland at this year’s Northern European Championships in Finland, all gymnasts are gaining valuable international experience. The team put in a solid performance finishing in 5th with Halle pushing on from her worlds performance and taking home the bronze medal in the All-Around. Both Halle and Lily go again in tomorrows apparatus finals and we all wish them both the very best of luck. Congratulations to gymnasts and team coaches David and Josie."

Gymnastics Ireland’s CEO Mr Ciaran Gallagher added: "Great first day of competition for our girls in Finland and huge congratulations to Halle on a well deserved bronze in the AA! Apparatus Finals will take place on Sunday 20th November from 9am to 12pm (Irish time).
