Apply Now - Sport Ireland 'Sports for All' Disability Supports Club Fund 2023

Each year Gymnastics Ireland applies for funding to Sport Ireland through its Dormant Account Funds (DAF) to support the growth and development of the GymABLE Programme. Many clubs have applied for and benefited from the Gymnastics Ireland Club Funding Programme since 2015. This year, 10 clubs have applied and been successful in their application for the GI club GymABLE programme funding 2022.

Last Friday 29^th July 2022, we received communication from Sport Ireland informing NGB’s of a new application format for 2023.

Sport Ireland are now making funding available directly to clubs. This fund offers every club affiliated with a Sport Ireland recognised National Governing Body an opportunity to provide inclusive opportunities for participation for people with a disability. It will provide funding supports for local clubs to connect in a meaningful way with their community, potentially even building the club’s own community over time through the inclusion of people with a disability in all club activities.

A link to the application form has been circulated today to all Club Secretaries. Full details of this Sport Ireland club funding are outlined in the introduction of the form. Information from each club submission will form part of our overall NGB funding application. The decision on the allocation of this new club funding will depend on the quality of the application, and will be made independently by Sport Ireland.

The deadline for submission for this club funding is Friday 12^th August.

We appreciate this is a short period of time to get your 2023 applications in, however we are working with the deadlines set for us by Sport Ireland for the overall NGB application.

We would encourage all clubs to look at the form and its supporting information and make an application. There are 3 areas within the application:

1. Disability Supports Education and Training
2. Disability Supports Programme Activation and Delivery
3. Disability Supports Small Scale Equipment and Infrastructure

A minimum application amount of €1,000 and maximum application amount of €5,000 is available for clubs to apply for.
