National All-Around Champions crowned across 5 gymnastics disciplines!

The National Series FIG All-Around Championships 2022 took place this weekend in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena. This Gymnastics Ireland competitive event saw 800 gymnasts from all around the country in the disciplines of Acrobatics, Men’s Artistic, Women’s Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline and Tumbling with 1500 spectators supporting.
Tokyo 2020 Olympic finalist Rhys McClenaghan was on hand performing on pommel and floor.
The FIG Senior All-Around Artistic Gymnastics National Champions for 2022 were Domnick Cunningham and Emma Slevin and in the Junior category the title went to Niall Hooton and Lily Russell.
The highest execution score in Acrobatics went to Eadaoin O’Connell, Georgia O’Driscoll & Holly Wenger and Ava Broaders, Aoife Gough & Aoibhinn Ryan. Meanwhile the highest artistry score went to Katie Nolan, Ellen O’Brien and Aoibhe Ormonde.
Junior gymnast Zara Horan hit gold on Tumbling becoming the National Champion in the female category and in the Senior category Molly Nightingale won gold after an impressive performance keeping her champion status since 2019, whilst in the male category Hugo Kinahan was crowned champion.
For Trampoline the FIG Senior Male title went to Ryan Devine. In the Junior category the title went to Laoise Cox and Liam Talbot.
The Rhythmic competition saw Callan McAlpine stepping onto the podium in first place as the 2022 Senior National Champion and finally in the Junior category the title went to Gauhar Ruane.

This event was a qualifying step for the upcoming ‘National Series Super Championships’ which will be held right here at the National Indoor Arena on 9th & 10th July, where the best of the best from all disciplines across all ages and levels can be expected.
