5500 at the first Gymnastics Ireland National Series event of 2023

Our first National Series event of 2023 took place this weekend at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena with over 1600 gymnasts competing across the six gymnastics disciplines and 3900 spectators supporting over the two days!
Acrobatics had its open competition on Saturday with highlight scores for Aoibhin Holahan and Sergei Sandu in first position in the SR Mixed Pair category and Kirsten Brennan and Lily Stuart in first position in the Women’s pair category.
Rhythmic gymnastics had its National Grading Competition during on both days with Callan McAlpine in first position in the FIG Senior Level 5 category.
Finally in Trampoline and Tumbling we saw the qualifiers for the National Championships with the FIG International Level Molly Nightingale making podium in first position on Tumbling and Ewan McGillycuddy on Trampoline.
In the Artistic disciplines we saw the National All-Around Championships for Men’s Level 1 and Women’s Level 1 & Level 2, the National All Around & Apparatus Championships for Women’s Level 3, 4 & 5 and the National All Around & Team Championships for Women’s Introductory Levels.

Attention now shifts to our May event where we will see the National Series All-Around and Apparatus Championships for all six gymnastics disciplines and the JumpSTART event, our new discipline-focused event that will provide recreational members with the opportunity to compete in more than one discipline.
