Rhys McClenaghan & Dr. Sergio Lara-Bercial sign up for Gymnastics Ireland Exchange!

Gymnastics Ireland is proud to announce gymnastics star Rhys McClenaghan and Dr. Sergio Lara-Bercial as key note speakers for our new Gymnastics Ireland Exchange week conference for our club network, members & fans that will take place for the first time at the end of October 2023.

Commonwealth Champion, European Champion, World Champion, Olympic Finalist... What a list of achievements Rhys McClenaghan has amassed throughout his career to date! Rhys joins us as the first keynote speaker to be announced for Gymnastics Ireland Exchange. As Ireland's globally recognised superstar gymnast Rhys knows exactly what it takes to get to the top. He will join us on Friday 3rd November at the Sport Ireland NIA to share his views and discuss his journey to the top including his thoughts on the importance of coaching through the lens of a gymnast.

Dr Sergio Lara-Bercial - I Coach Kids

Dr Sergio Lara-Bercial is a Professor of Sport Coaching at Leeds Beckett University and the Vice-President for Strategy and Development for the International Council for Coaching Excellence. He has published widely on a variety of sport-related topics including youth sport and coach development. Sergio is also the co-founder of 'ICOACHKIDS', a global movement helping coaches put kids first in sport by developing free resources for coaches, parents and sport organisations. Sergio is recognised globally as an industry leader and consults for multiple top-tier sports organisations/companies such as the International Olympic Committee, Nike, UEFA and FIBA. He is also a former international basketball coach for Great Britain and has coached national league for over 27 years winning 18 National Titles with both male and female teams. We cant wait to welcome Sergio to the Sport Ireland NIA for Gymnastics Ireland Exchange!

About Gymnastics Ireland Exchange

Online activities/seminars will be available for member clubs between 6 to 8pm Monday 30th October to Thursday 2nd November culminating with the in-person keynote speaker day taking place in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena on Friday 3rd November.

As previously outlined, clubs will be offered 2 x free passes to each conference virtual session plus the in-person keynote speaker day. In addition, each club will be provided with a twin room in a hotel close to the arena free of charge for the night of Friday 3rd November plus a dinner & networking event invitation for the 2 x named club attendees hosted by Gymnastics Ireland that evening.
