Over 2800 at the 10 year anniversary of ‘The Floor’

1st June 2025, Dublin: The tenth anniversary of Gymnastics Ireland’s flagship participation-based display event - ‘The Floor’ took place on Sunday 1^st June in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena with 42 display teams and over 850 gymnasts participating from 27 clubs from all around the country and a crowd of 2000 spectators supporting!

2025 marks the biggest ever number of participants The Floor has seen since its first edition in 2015, with a record number of clubs taking part across the three individual sessions. With a wide variety of performances and participants ranging in age, discipline and ability, presented by MC and RTE radio broadcaster Shay Byrne.

Gymnastics Ireland's Participation Manager Angela Griffin said:

“What a phenomenal way to celebrate 10 years of The Floor. Thank you to all the gymnasts and the coaches that celebrated this milestone with us. It is so inspiring to watch these gymnasts perform today. This year we saw our largest number of participants as we grow from strength to strength and develop display gymnastics in Ireland.”

This event celebrates participation in gymnastics highlighting friendship, fun, and team spirit. It brings together teams from across the country to showcase their skills in front of an enthusiastic audience of gymnastics fans and a panel of display gymnastics experts.
