3rd November 2024, Loule, Portugal: Irish trampolinist, Fiadh Rogers took home a bronze medal in the U13's in her first international competition qualifying first in the final, scoring a 46.790 to take home 3rd place.
Fiadh speaking on her performance:
"It felt so good to walk out onto the floor for my first international final, although it was a bit nerve-wracking. When I finished my routine, I was so happy I didn't know what to think. I gave my coach a big hug, and was shocked when the score went up. I was speechless. The team was very supportive and helpful, and they gave me lots of encouragement. I'm very excited for my next international to see what it brings!"
Naoise on Fiadh's Performance:
"Our trip to Loule Cup this year was another successful one! While making three finals was a win in itself, Fiadh supreme performance in the U13's girls' final was the icing on the cake to bring our competition year to a close. She didn't let the pressure of her first international final get to her, and delivered a composed routine to secure a bronze medal. Special mention to our other finalists, Zach and Matthew, and our other gymnasts who did their country proud! Their individual successes are a testament to the progress and development of the trampoline programme, as we look forward to a new competition season in early 2025."
Teammates Zach Alderdice and Matthew Byrne-Kane both made the final in the 13-14 age group. Zach qualified to the final in 8th place finishing in 7th while teammate Matthew qualified as first reserve in 9th but was asked to compete placing 6th place in the final.
Well done to all athletes, coaches, and judges!
