On July 24th, the FIG digital book "Gymnastics for All - Worldwide Experiences - Vol. 2" was officially launched in Lisbon, Portugal, during the World Gym for Life Challenge.
The President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), Mr. Morinari Watanabe, participated in the launch ceremony, highlighting the book's contribution to the memory and promotion of inclusive sport worldwide, and the FIG's joy in publishing a work that showcases the diversity of gymnastics.
Gymnastics Ireland was involved in the development of the book. GI Director of Participation, Inclusion and Club Development Aimi Baker and GI Participation Manager Angela Griffin contributed with insights and recommendations from GI research "The Gymnast's Voice - Harnessing Opportunities to Retain Teenage Girls in Gymnastics" in a dedicated chapter.
"We were honored to be asked by FIG to write an article for the FIG GfA e-book on the topic of our Women in Sport (WIS) Research: "The Gymnast's Voice"." commented Aimi Baker. "We are delighted that our research will now reach a world-wide audience and look forward to the possibility of collaborating with other federations on similar projects."
