Hickey qualifies to finals at 2026 Osijek World Cup

Gymnastics Ireland's James Hickey qualified to finals at the 2026 Dobro World Cup held in Osijek, Croatia on 9th-13th April.
Hickey qualified to the pommel horse final in 8th place scoring a 14.200 in qualifications. This is the second world cup final of the year for James, who won a bronze medal on Saturday 14th March in Antalya, Turkey.
Teammate Daniel Fox started the day on the rings scoring a 13.333 placing 13th. Rhys McClenaghan finished behind James in the Pommel Horse in 20th with a 13.866. Teammates Enriquez and Montgomery competed in the floor exercise where Montgomery placed 14th scoring a 13.533 and Enriquez placed 19th with a 13.366. Teammate Daniel Fox started the day on the rings scoring a 13.333 placing 13th. Teammate Oisin O'Connell will compete in High Bar qualifications today!
James Hickey on his performance:
"Delighted to make another final! Today was a different sort of experience, but I'm learning a lot out here. Looking forwards to getting out there in the final on Saturday. Glad to have the support from Phoenix gymnastics club and Gymnastics Ireland."
