Irish Gymnasts conclude 2024 Cairo World Cup

Cairo, Egypt; Team Ireland gymnasts Eamon Montgomery, Dom Cunningham, Ewan McAteer, Emma Slevin, Halle Hilton, Bláthnaid Higgins, and Lily Russell today concluded competition at the 2024 Cairo World Cup in Cairo, Egypt.

On day one of the Men’s qualifications, Montgomery placed 12th on floor with a score of 13.800, while Cunningham placed 15th. On day 2 of qualifications, Cunningham competed on vault placing 11th with a score of 14.130, while teammate McAteer placed 17th on same.

During the first day of women’s qualifications, Hilton placed 22nd on vault with an average score of 12.520, whilst Higgins placed 27th in her World Cup debut on the same apparatus.

Day two of qualifications saw Slevin and Hilton competing on floor placing 13th and 28th respectively with Slevin also competing on beam placing 24th.

Russell made her debut as a first year senior on beam placing 20th with a score of 12.100.

Attention now shifts to Cottbus, Germany where the team will compete in their second World Cup of 2024. Stay tuned for more!
