Mulholland Wins Bronze with Record Setting Score at the Coimbra Gym Fest 2025

Coimbra, Portugal; Team Ireland’s Fionnuala Mulholland wins Bronze in the Senior 17+ category with record breaking score for any Irish Female scoring a 51.56.

On Saturday, Mulholland qualified to the semi-final in 11th and made it through to the Final qualifying 3rd. She went on to the Final on Sunday to score a 51.56 making her stamp in history as the first Irish female to win a medal in the Senior 17+ in Trampoline. An amazing achievement internationally. Teammates, Fiadh Rogers and Laoise Cox both qualified to the finals as well where Rogers finished 4th narrowly missing the podium and teammate Cox finished 7th. 

Jay Scouler-Trampoline National Performance Coach on Fionnuala's performance, said "It was great to see our National Trampoline & Tumbling Team mixing it with the Worlds best out in Portugal. Fionnuala spearheaded our efforts with a magnificent bronze medal in the Senior event at the GymFest Open. Her teammate on the National team and at club level (Flight TC, Belfast) Fiadh narrowly missed out on a podium finish coming 4th in the 13-14G event demonstrating our growing strength in depth in Ireland."

Senior Male tumbler, Hugo Kinahan qualified to Sunday's final in 2nd finishing in 8th place. In the13-14 male tumblers category, Darragh Wallace finished 4th in the final while teammate Oscar Hegarty finished in 6th place. 

On Friday, the Under 12 girls' tumbling team took home the gold medal with Lily Cresham winning the silver medal, and Stevie Oliver taking home the bronze. The 13-14 girl' tumbling team also took home a bronze medal.

We are incredibly proud of our tumbling team’s outstanding performance at the recent competition in Coimbra. With six of our eleven athletes reaching the finals, it was a strong showing that reflects the hard work and talent developing within Irish Tumbling. A special congratulations to our Under-12 girls team who took home the gold, overcoming strong competition from both Greece and Portugal, and to our Under-14 girls who secured a well-earned bronze.

Individually, Lily Clesham and Stevie Oliver delivered fantastic routines to claim silver and bronze respectively - a testament to the growing caliber of our athletes.

For such a young team, this level of success speaks volumes about the potential we’re seeing in tumbling across Ireland. With interest in the discipline growing rapidly and a passionate, athlete-centered coaching team leading the way, we’re building a strong, inclusive, and fun team culture that is driving our sport forward.
