With a wide variety of performances and participants ranging in discipline, ability and age from children to adults, including club coaches teams and the first ever adult coaches team made up of coaches from different clubs who worked together remotely and digitally to learn the choreography and met at The Floor to perform together for the first time. The team's idea mirrors an event from World Gymnaestrada gymnastics festival, where participants from across the world learn a single routine without meeting before the event, training remotely and meeting online!
The Floor 2026 was an amazing display of Gymnastics for All talent presented by MC and RTE radio broadcaster Shay Byrne.
All the teams were given professional feedback at the end of their performance by our expert panel, the internationally recognised choreographer and our resident expert Alan McGrath, the leading UK host for Gymnastics for All events Tony McNicoll and the USA ‘Gymnastics for All’ Technical Director Lori Laznovsky a highly respected leader in Gymnastics for All with over 25 years of experience who plays a key role in organizing international events and was elected to the World Gymnastics committee for 2025–2028.
Commenting on the weekend, Lori Laznovsky, World Gymnastics committee member said:
"The quality of performances we saw this weekend was top level. A wide variety of performances, including different age groups and a lot of creativity all over the board. I really enjoyed my time at The Floor, and I think the audience did as well. Participants looked really happy, which is what we want: everyone enjoying gymnastics."
Gymnastics Ireland's Director of Participation, Inclusion and Club Development (DPICD), Aimi Baker added:
“Wow!… what a weekend of fantastic gymnastics. Each and every display team were outstanding. We are so proud of all our clubs, their coaches and most importantly our wonderful gymnasts.
The weekend was an unforgettable celebration where pure joy met unstoppable energy, and every single routine was fueled by cheers, smiles, and the absolute love of the sport.
The number of clubs, teams and gymnasts has grown exponentially over the last number of years, reaching almost 1,000 gymnasts this year, taking part over 2 days”
