Senior Women's Artistic Team wins bronze and McGuinness wins silver on vault at Luxembourg Open 2026

Omnisport Belair, Luxembourg; Team Ireland's senior women's artistic team won the bronze medal at Luxembourg Open 2026 and each qualifying to apparatus finals. 

Halle Hilton led the team to a bronze medal podium finish with a 9th place finish scoring 49.851 in the all around. Teammate Mimi Moloney was right behind her placing 10th with a 49.151. Teammates Maeve McGuinness and Blathnaid Higgins played an incremental role in achieving the team score with McGuinness helping big on vault and beam and Higgins helping on vault, bars and floor. The team started on the floor exercise where Hilton led with a 12.767, Moloney with a 12.667 and Higgins 12.600 adding to the team score. The team rotated to vault where it was led by McGuinness scoring a 12.950 and Moloney and Higgins with a 12.750. The team then took to the bars where Moloney led with a score of 12.167, Hilton scoring an 11.867 and Higgins scoring an 11.567. The team then finished strong on beam with Hilton leading with a 12.567 followed by teammate McGuinness who scored an 11.833 followed by Moloney's 11.567. The team scored a huge 148.052 which is Gymnastics Ireland's best team score which secured the bronze medal for the senior women.

McGuinness qualified to the beam and vault final. She won 2nd place in the vault final scoring an average of 13.075. Her first vault scoring a 13.100 which bettered her qualifying score. Her second vault scored a 12.650. She finished the beam final in 8th. 

Hilton qualified to the floor and beam final. She decided to only compete in the beam final where she took 4th with a score of 13.200. 

Moloney and Higgins competed in the floor final. Higgins finished 6th scoring a 12.200 and Moloney finished 8th scoring an 11.400.

The team score is what made me most excited about this year. Hitting such a benchmark this early in the season shows that this is just the beginning for Women's Artistic. The team has so much more and I am excited to see where we go from here. Really proud of their efforts and team camaraderie this week. Huge congrats to Maeve winning silver in vault and a job well done to all the finalists."
