Team Ireland conclude Trampoline European Championships 2026

Gymnastics Ireland's Liam Talbot, Fionnuala Mulholland and Laoise Cox concluded their competition at the 30th Trampoline European Championships in Portimao, Portugal.

On April 9th Talbot qualified into the U21 Individual semi-final in 14th place with a score of 93.67. He had an unfortunate fall in skill 2 in the semi-final.

Teammate Fionnuala Mulholland established the Irish women’s score and difficulty record during her Senior individual qualification round, scoring a 51.880 and placing 28th (third reserve for final).

Laoise Cox finished her senior individual qualification scoring a 49.770 placing 39th.

On April 11th, Cox and Mulholland also competed in the Women's Synchro where they scored a 43.100 placing 14th, just two places from qualifying for finals.

Liam in his performance into the semi-finals:

"It was fantastic to make semi-finals and represent Ireland at European Championships! The hard work I've put into my training made me confident on the floor with my fellow competitors. There were a lot of highs and lows leading up to this event, but if I could go back and tell myself anything, it would be: trust the process!"

Naoise Holohan on their performances:

"The results this week at the Trampoline European Championships are a testament to the continuing development of the trampoline programme in Ireland. Liam did great to make it to the semi final in U21, while Fionnuala hit a fantastic routine to be the third reserve to the senior semi final. Laoise and Fionnuala then delivered a commendable performance in senior synchro to be second reserve for the final. Consistently knocking on the door of semi finals and finals at a competition of this high standard demonstrates the progress we have made, and the exciting future that lies ahead!"
