Gymnastics Ireland wins Inclusivity Award at the 2019 Irish Sport Industry Awards

Irish Sport HQ, Dublin; Gymnastics Ireland is proud to have been announced as the winner of the Inclusivity Award last night at the 2019 Irish Sport Industry Awards in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin, for our GymABLE programme targeted at providing gymnastics opportunities for people with disabilities. Commenting on the achievements, Gymnastics Ireland CEO Mr. Ciaran Gallagher said:
‘We are really proud to have won a Sport Industry Award for the 2nd year in a row - this time for GymABLE. This programme has had a huge impact already in growing inclusive club environments within our club network and with the recent announcement of GymABLE support for 18 clubs in 2019 we can be confident that this will continue. Congratulations in particular must go to our Participation Manager Aimi Baker who developed the programme and who continues to grow and develop it year-on-year!’
Gymnastics Ireland Participation Manager and lead of the GymABLE programme, Aimi Baker said:
‘I’m really proud that GymABLE has been recognized at the Irish Sport Industry Awards, helping to highlight and promote disability gymnastics at a national level. The success of GymABLE is a team effort with all our clubs and coaches. It’s a fantastic acknowledgement of our achievements so far with this program, with lots more to come!'

The award ceremony, hosted by the Federation of Irish Sport, seeks to recognise and reward excellence in the sporting industry, while simultaneously highlighting the contribution sport makes to the Irish economy, both directly and indirectly.
