Gymnastics Ireland is proud to present GymABLE - an inclusive gymnastics programme targeted at providing gymnastics opportunities for people with disabilities. Our Disabilities Programme is supported by Sport Ireland Dormant Account Funds (DAF) and CARA, Ireland's national pan-disability sport organisation.
“CARA is proud to be associated with Gymnastics Ireland and their aims to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to become involved in gymnastics. We look forward to seeing their ‘GymABLE’ programme continue to increase capacity for inclusion in sport of people with disabilities so that they can enjoy the benefits of being active and healthy.”
Michael Gilroy, CARA. Training and Education Manager
“To value the ability and individuality of all members with a disability by taking all reasonable steps to provide each individual with the opportunities they need to reach their full potential as active gymnastics participants within an inclusive environment”
Gymnastics Ireland aims to promote and nurture:
- An inclusive culture, recognizing that every person is an individual and has their own learning style thus promoting disability inclusion throughout the sport
- The identity of each person attending the sport and aim to ensure that their emotional and physical wellbeing is always of paramount importance
The GymABLE programme is part of Gymnastics Ireland strategy and Sport Ireland's wider strategy to ensure that all National Governing Bodies are inclusive organizations and provide opportunities for everyone, regardless of age, ability, disability, or gender.
