27th January 2020, Dublin: It will be a big year for Olympic sport in Ireland with the Tokyo games fast approaching. Rhys McClenaghan has already secured qualification and Meg Ryan is sitting in reserve place so having Gymnastics Ireland represented at the games will mean big public attention and increased interest in our sport. Before Tokyo we have a busy year ahead of national and international activities...

In March our National events programme kick-starts with the GymSTART and National Series qualification competitions in the National Indoor Arena (NIA) at the Sport Ireland Campus.

In May the NIA will see the return of the Gymnastics Ireland National Series All-Around Championships.

June will see two of our flagship annual events for both the participation and the competitive programmes starting with The Floor at the start of June and the National Series Super Championships at the end.

October will see the Gymnastics Ireland National Awards which is an event to celebrate and reward all those stand out performers & contributors to the sport throughout the year.

Finally, the national events programme will close in November with the National Series Team Championships at the NIA and two GymSTART Challenge events in Dublin and Limerick.

On the international competition front we have the European Championships for Men, Women & Trampoline plus the World Championships/Age-Groups for Acro kicking off in April and May. Keep an eye out for our gymnasts on the World Cup circuit including Rhys McClenaghan as he leads into his final preparation for what will be the sporting event of the year with Tokyo 2020 in July & August.

Our Club Forums will also return providing our club managers and head coaches with the ability to learn from industry experts in the gymnastics, sport & corporate/business worlds in addition to providing great networking opportunities for all involved. Dates are currently being finalised and will published soon...

So it's a busy and exciting year ahead for all!
