We are proud to announce that we have secured an additional €500k in club support funding from the 2021 Sport Ireland Covid19 Resilience Fund to support 17 clubs that applied individually/were eligible for allocation.

Additionally we have been able to negotiate a reduction plus provide support funding to cover approx. 80% of club insurance costs for 2021 recognising the extended period of lockdown from Jan - June plus restrictions on operation.

This brings the total Covid19 support funding secured by Gymnastics Ireland from the Sport Ireland Resilience Fund to €1.9 million.

Commenting on the funding announcement, CEO Ciaran Gallagher said...

'2021 proved to be another difficult year for our club network which has been impacted heavily as an indoor sport. To date we have secured a funding package totalling €1.9 million to assist clubs with losses, Covid19 operational investments and insurance costs. I can only thank the Government and Sport Ireland for their continued support following the recent announcement of an additional €500k in club support funding following our recent submission of application in September. We hope that this, in addition to the recently announced 80% refund on 2021 club insurance plus previous support funding investments will assist our club network as we look to rebuild our sport for 2022+'
