The GymSTART Challenge participation events return to the National Indoor Arena

Gymnastics Ireland's key participation event, the GymSTART Challenge returned to the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Dublin last Sunday 14th November after 2 years since the Covid-19 restrictions took place. The day saw 500 gymnasts from clubs all around the country taking part and and over 900 spectators in support.

Commenting on the day Gymnastics Ireland Participation Manager Aimi Baker said:

“What a great weekend of inclusive gymnastics. It was great to see the GymSTART Challenge back in action after a difficult 18 months. With over 500 gymnasts taking part, smiling faces, cheering and clapping was the order of the day, as well as brilliant gymnastic performances at all levels. Well done to all the clubs and coaches for preparing their gymnasts for this event. A special mention to the Gymnastics Ireland Events Team who worked hard together over the weekend to ensure the event ran safely and efficiently. We are all looking froward to 2022 and a full schedule of events”.

Huge congratulations to all those gymnasts who participated at the weekend and to the many coaches, assessors and supporters who contributed to this event. We keep encouraging more clubs to take part in the coming years and join in the fun!
