Once again we welcome performance and coaching scientist Katie Richards, to present this two-hour webinar in Applied Sports Psychology “ Mindfulness and Managing Anxiety - How to stay in the moment!” taking place on Friday April 23rd, 2021.

About the speaker

Katie is a former Senior Sport Psychology & Coaching Science Lecturer at St Mary’s University, and has been a prominent figure on gymnastics scene for several years, offering sport psychology support to a number of clubs and coaches. Additionally she works for British Gymnastics, as the Coach Education Development Manager, as well as finding time to coach and tutor on a regular basis.

About this webinar

Managing anxiety is a critical skill to develop, not only for performance but to navigate the challenges of everyday life. In this webinar we will explore how anxiety impacts our attentional control, performance and well-being. We will look at redefining how we view and talk about anxiety and some strategies to help gymnasts stay in the moment to manage worries and concerns.

Who is it for

This virtual event is open to all Gymnastics Ireland members across all disciplines (who are 18 and over) with an interest in Sports Psychology. The content that will be delivered is ideally suitable for Level 2 coaches and above who are coaching gymnasts at a high performance level.
