About the speaker

Dermot is Gymnastics Ireland’s Policy, Welfare & Compliance Manager and has been working with Gymnastics Ireland for the past 13 years. Dermot represents Gymnastics Ireland on external committees and in various forums to ensure our voice is represented and that we are at the fore-front of safeguarding and compliance matters for our sport/organisation. Recently Dermot delivered a presentation as part of a series of safeguarding webinars organised in the framework of the European Union and Council of Europe joint project “Child Safeguarding in Sport”. The webinar was attended by over 20 Countries and showcased successfully implemented systems of Child Safeguarding Officers in five European countries/organisations.

About this webinar

This session will cover important safeguarding updates, Sport Ireland’s Club Auditing Framework, the Children First Act 2015/Child Safeguarding Statement and legislation update.

These online events are designed to support clubs by providing the most up to date information. This webinar is targeted at Club owners, Club Children’s Officers and Club Designated Liaison Persons.
