11th March 2021, 19:53p.m. | National
Gymnastics Ireland wrapped up Thursday evening with the Digital Marketing and Communications webinar with Sinéad Galvin. This was the second of our Club Support Series sponsored by our insurers, Marsh.
Sinéad is the founder of Galvin Sports Management (GSM), a communication consultancy specialising in sport. Sinéad is passionate about supporting sporting organisations, events and brands to develop communications strategies to ensure they maximise media coverage and utilise their social media channels to build their brand. She is also an agent to many of Ireland’s leading Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls, including Rhys McClenaghan, supporting them to build their personal brand and secure sponsorship. Before starting GSM, she worked for PR agency Wilson Hartnell as Account Director in the Sports Practice. She gained significant experience in Athletics Ireland as their first-ever Marketing Manager, working across communication and sponsorship.
This online event delivered insightful and straightforward information and ways to engage with their members and promote their club. “Having a clear approach to your club’s communication will support you to achieve your overall objectives. Regardless of which digital channel of communication you choose, you need to be clear on who you are communicating with and what message you wish to convey. Consistently and persistently saying the right thing, to the right people, at the right time will allow you to have a strong connection with your members and their parents while also building an external profile in your community.” Explained speaker Sinéad Galvin.
In today’s challenging climate having the skills and knowledge to leverage and utilize all digital business tools is of upmost importance to stay connected with members and to promote and grow the club’s membership.
Gymnastics Ireland CEO Ciaran Gallagher said: “Thanks to Sinead for delivering a really insightful webinar on the key areas of digital marketing and comms for clubs. While clearly having an in-depth knowledge as a professional in this field she also has a detailed understanding of sport at a club level in Ireland from her own sport of athletics. Having worked with Sinead for a number of years from a GI perspective, plus through her representing Rhys McClenaghan as an agent, she has also developed a great understanding of our sport so it was great to see her bring all this knowledge together for the benefit of our members as the webinar series continues to roll out.”
