Membership Benefits for the New Membership Year

As the new membership year approaches, here is a reminder of the ‘Gymnastics Ireland Member Benefits’. This promotional video outlines the importance of joining a Gymnastics Ireland registered club.

Only Gymnastics Ireland member clubs can ensure that all the things that need to be in place for safe and progressive participation in our sport are in place. This includes the programmes, club training, coaching qualifications, insurance and safeguarding protections required by the government.

Gymnastics Ireland is the official government approved National Governing Body for the sport of gymnastics in Ireland as recognised by Sport Ireland, which means we are the official Irish organisation for the development of the sport from club through to national and international level. Here is a list of member benefits:

• We develop and run programmes and initiatives covering participation levels such as GymSTART & the Floor through to competitive level such as the National Series and a fully inclusive community-based sport. We also have programmes in place to cater for key groups such as GymABLE, Gym4Teens and Women in Sport to name a few.

• We are also responsible for ensuring our clubs are safe environments for our members. We have a wide range of member safeguarding policies and mandatory training in place so clubs are operating as safe spaces for participation in our sport. We conduct garda vetting/police background checks on all adult members aged over 18 years old and are the ONLY organisation authorised to do this for the sport of gymnastics in Ireland

• We provide our clubs and individual members with the best insurance protection built specifically for our sport

• Our coach education system is the ONLY Sport Ireland approved system for gymnastics in the country. This system ensures our members are being coached by coaches who have up-to-date qualifications and that are coaching in-line with their appropriate level
