Gymnastics Ireland’s Women in Sport Programme funding announced

Gymnastics Ireland are proud to be supported by Sport Ireland and the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport through the 2026 Women in Sport Funding Programme (WIS), which has awarded us €80,000 as part of a €4 million investment that continues to drive meaningful progress across Irish sport.
Gymnastics Ireland’s Director of Participation, Inclusion and Club Development Aimi Baker who was present at the announcement, said:
"This investment will support the development and delivery of new projects and initiatives for women and girls. Allowing us to deepen our impact within our membership, remove barriers to participation and facilitate equal opportunities for women and girls to take part in and enjoy gymnastics."

The Sport Ireland WIS Programme funds projects and initiatives for women and girls across a wide range of sports which support the National Sports Policy’s vision of removing barriers to participation and facilitating equal opportunity.
This funding is central to overcoming barriers and creating more opportunities for women and girls at every level of sport. The programme will support work across the four key Women in Sport policy areas:
- Coaching and Officiating
- Active Participation
- Leadership and Governance
- Visibility
