Gymnastics Ireland and Active School Flag launch Gymnastics for All Walkway Learning Resource

Gymnastics Ireland is proud to announce our collaboration with Active School Flag for the creation and publication of 'The Gymnasticas for All Walkway Learning', a new gymnastics resource available for free through Active School Flag - National Initiatives, which promotes fundamental movements aimed at primary school children.

By including basic gymnastics movements through shapes, skills and challenges, as well as sharing general information about the sport, the chart provides options for primary school children to incorporate gymnastics into their day through movement breaks or as part of their PE curriculum.

The pilot session ran last Thursday 25th June with Leixlip Educate Together NS, where Gymnastics Ireland delivered a demonstration using the debut Walkway cards whilst encouraging creativity from the students to elaborate on the stations and activity cards. At the end of the session feedback was welcomed from students, teachers, and administrators.

With the incorporation of cross-curricular topics, the walkway highlights how learning can be active, fun, and inclusive. The steps along the walkway allow for solo moments or some with friends. It also includes modifications and adaptations for students of all levels of ability.
