Olympic Champion McClenaghan joins Northern Europeans presenter team!

Hot off the back of his historic Olympic gold medal win, Gymnastics Ireland star Rhys McClenaghan is joining the 'in-arena' presenter team at the 2024 Northern European Championships in September!

This 12 x nation men's & women's international event is the first podium level international gymnastics event to be hosted in Ireland. Rhys, who is taking some down time following Paris, will be joining RTE's Marie Crowe and Shay Byrne as part of the team who will be keeping our audience of enthusiastic fans up to speed as the high excitement competition unfolds!

World class gymnasts will battle it out at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Dublin for the Team & All-Around (AA) titles on Saturday 21^st September. The top 8 x gymnasts on each apparatus from Saturday's competition will then qualify through to the Apparatus Finals on Sunday 22^nd September.

Competing nations include Denmark, England, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Wales and of course the home team Ireland.

On joining the presenter team Rhys commented:

'I'm thrilled to be part of the event presentation team at the Northern Europeans in September. On some downtime from training, I'm excited to have the opportunity to be behind the microphone and help the audience in the arena understand and follow all the excitement of the competition. I look forward to sharing my insights with the spectators and I hope to see a great turn-out!'
