7000 at GymSTART Dublin

9th March 2025; This weekend saw the return of the GymSTART Floor and Vault Competition for 2025 taking place in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Dublin. The competition has increased in popularity since last year, with an all-time record number of almost 2100 gymnasts competing from 32 clubs across the two-day event and over 5000 spectators.
The event also saw an increase in GymABLE gymnasts and teenage participants, the majority of which were female.

Our GymSTART programme allows young gymnasts to compete in a safe and inclusive environment. Through this programme Gymnastics Ireland provides a pathway for aspiring gymnasts to start their journey in our sport. Ran concurrently alongside the GymSTART event was our GymABLE inclusion competition as part of our continued dedication to providing opportunities for people with disabilities. Competing in both the Floor and Vault Competition, GymABLE gymnast’s have the opportunity to continue within the GymABLE programme or transfer into the GymSTART programme.
Attention now shifts to the National Series event taking place on the 22nd and 23rd of March later this month, which will feature all six disciplines as well as the JumpSTART competition all taking place under one roof in the Sports Ireland National Indoor Arena.
