Rhys McClenaghan - Gymnastics Ireland Club Tour shortlisted for 2025 Olympic Sport Awards

On 31st October 2025, the Olympic Federation of Ireland announced the shortlists for the 2025 Team Ireland Olympic Sport Awards, a landmark celebration recognising the standout performances, moments, and achievements from across the Irish Olympic community in 2025.
Rhys McClenaghan - Gymnastics Ireland Club Tour 2025 has been shortlisted in the Community Impact Award category, along with Inbhear Dee Athletics Club’s Noreen O’Reilly, Eithne Walsh & Anne-Marie Kelly, and Cricket Connects Summer Camp.
Rhys McClenaghan has also been shortlisted for Creator of the Year.

About Rhys McClenaghan - Gymnastics Ireland Club Tour 2025
Last summer, 520 competitive gymnasts and their coaches from 8 member clubs had the great opportunity to welcome Ireland's first ever gymnastics Olympic Champion Rhys McClenaghan to their facilities as part of the Gymnastics Ireland Club Tour.
Each session featured an inspirational talk from Rhys, where gymnasts were motivated by his personal journey, including the highs and lows of his career and had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with him. This was followed by a coaching session in which Rhys actively participated offering tips and insights, moving around the floor to interact with athletes and assisting individuals in developing their gymnastics skills.
Each gymnast and coach had the special opportunity to hold Rhys' Olympic gold medal — a powerful reminder of what dedication and discipline can achieve, all while enjoying the journey.
