Gymnastics Ireland (GI) is the national governing body for the sport of gymnastics in Ireland. 

Gymnastics Ireland is seeking an Events Executive contractor.

Gymnastics Ireland operates large scale national & international events covering participation to performance levels catering to over 10,000 gymnasts and over 30,000 spectators on an annual basis.

This is a 12-month, full time contract within our base of operations at the Sport Ireland Campus in Dublin, however flexible work from home approach is standard. Weekend work will be required during peak event periods in line with the GI events calendar.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to our dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, now one of the largest participation sports in Ireland and having come off the back of Ireland’s historic first ever Olympic gold medal in gymnastics at the Paris 2024 Games.

What are we looking for?

Support Gymnastics Ireland in the development and delivery of the national and international events programme.

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • A third level qualification in Event Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A knowledge of gymnastics is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience in event management/operations is advantageous
  • Strong organisational & interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with team members & stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to a car for business use

Key areas of expertise & responsibilities include the following:

  • Support the Event Manager and wider event team to successfully deliver the events programme
  • Liaise with the Sport Ireland Campus bookings office regarding upcoming events
  • Work closely with other departments within GI to deliver all event programmes
  • Manage bookings with contractors and ensure that they have all key event information
  • Set up and manage competitions on event entry and scoring systems

Manage all event related queries from clubs

  • Efficiently review and verify all invoices, securing timely approval from the Events Manager
  • Liaise with accounts department re all event invoicing requirements
  • Set up and manage spectator tickets for all events through our partner ticketing platform
  • Request all club officials’ information by set deadlines and send to relevant GI Department for checks
